How Could You Know Montmartre If You Don’t Visit The Museum !
Located in the heart of Old Montmartre Village near Place du Tertre, its collection and documents, its buildings and the garden which surrounds them, give it its particular charm and interests.
Open in 1960 this Museum houses the collection of the Society of History and Archaeology created in 1886. Gathered by scholars, artists and lovers of the hill this collection shows the artistic, political, religious and folk history of this area.

We can find a model of the ancien village, an unequaled collection of Clignancourt Factory Porcelains, a very nice collection of posters of Golden Age in Montmartre, « Le Chat Noir » shadow-theatre and Composer Gustave Charpentier’s writing desk (G. Charpentier is the author of The Opera Louise)...

You can visit eight rooms of this manor house (XVII Century), By the end of your visit you may feel slightly « Montmartrois ».
